Item 1 – Polish Horse, #2

 

This mosaic is set in an older, stoneware dinner plate, made in Poland for Crate & Barrel. Hence, the name, the Polish Horse. This mosaic is one of three, done on the Crate & Barrel stoneware. The white rim with the bold blue trim frames and compliments the art. The diameter of the mosaic plate is 12 inches. Item 2 – The Glastonbury Mosaic

Item 2 is an abstract, stained glass mosaic, named after the maker of the the vintage, silver plated tray, the Glastonbury Silver Company, no longer in business.

The stained glass is translucent and opaque. The surface of the plate has been polished to reflect light, making the mosaic more luminous. The pattern on the rim and handles add to the distinctive sculptural look to the mosaic. The Glastonbury mosaic is oval shaped, 21.5 inches in length and 12.75 inches in width. Item 3 – Polish Horse #3

Like the other Polish Horse, this mosaic is set in an older, stoneware dinner plate, made in Poland for Crate & Barrel. Hence, the name, the Polish Horse. Item 4 – The Newport Abstract

Item 5 is an abstract, stained glass mosaic. The maker of the vintage, silver plated tray is the Gorham Manufacturing Company, founded in 1831 in Newport Rhode Island, sold to Textron in the 1960’s. The Newport Gorham Mark is on the back of the tray.

The stained glass is translucent and opaque. The surface of the plate has been polished to reflect light, making the mosaic more luminous. The pattern on the rim and the handles add a distinctive sculptural look. The Newport Abstract is oval shaped, 23 inches in length and 13 inches in width. It weighs approximately three pounds.
